This painting is a direct copy of a beautiful photograph sent by a friend who was holidaying in Moscow in summer.

The frozen whites of the Moscow snow were replaced by a wide swathe of red, which, in my mind , represented an iridescent display of the summer. Being a red (communist ) country, the chance to pun on the same, wasn’t something I could pass by easily.
